Exploring Technical Innovations at Dev Technology’s Second Annual TechFest
On July 18, Dev Technology hosted its second annual TechFest event celebrating technology innovation in the community.
The event showcased our unique expertise and use of technologies highlighting some of the great things we’ve been working on using tools to advance government missions, reduce cost, promote efficiency, and solve problems in new ways. Employees, clients, and partners joined our technical teams at Dev Technology’s Reston, VA office to see firsthand through our innovative demos of how we deliver services and solutions.
Our TechFest demos featured several of Dev Technology’s capabilities and tools including our Dev CoreCloud™ where our team demonstrated how we’ve implemented the tool to support the mission needs for our clients and how the Dev CoreCloud™ for AWS allows agencies to get mission critical functionality out to their mission users in record time. By prioritizing end user engagement and spending time understanding how agencies work, combined with a modern, flexible framework, we deliver real, impactful results in weeks, not months. As mission needs evolve, the architecture supports rapid changes in a delivery model that scales with the solution itself.
Our Microsoft delivery team highlighted their use of Microsoft’s AI builder to streamline data in addition to demonstrating the use of Copilot Studio for internal company procedures, and Copilot for Microsoft 365 as a personal productivity tool. These Microsoft demos showcased that using these tools can overall improve delivery timelines with better cost savings and decreased resource hours for client projects so the focus can be shifted to more important initiatives.
The ServiceNow team at Dev Technology demonstrated our work using ServiceNow Now Assist to support client missions. ServiceNow Now Assist is a framework for utilizing Generative AI within a ServiceNow platform, which includes pre-built skills that utilize a ServiceNow developed Large Language Model (LLM) to enable platform level features such as text to code, text to workflow, and application generation. Using ServiceNow Now Assist and its IT Service Management (ITSM) leads to cost savings, faster time to delivery and quicker resolutions on cases, improved quality on project delivery and agent productivity.
We showcased Dev Technology’s AI SmartStack for accelerating deployment of specialized, API-first, on-premise or cloud-based AI. This effort was an exploration in evaluating student sentiment during learning. SmartStack brings cost-containment, asynchronous sessions, discrete control, and flexible model deployment to any organization.
In our final demo, we hosted Databricks where they showed demonstrations of the Data Lakehouse Architecture. The Databricks platform allows teams to unify data, analytics, and AI projects. Databricks is a lakehouse platform in the cloud, combining the best of data warehouses and data lakes to offer an open and unified platform for data and AI. “TechFest is our opportunity to bring together all the amazing work Dev Technology does to advance government delivery in one place to share, to celebrate, and to demonstrate what works,” said John Janek, Chief Technologist. “It’s a critical part of our continuous learning environment, and another way to make sure our government clients get access to the most effective technologies and approaches for their unique needs.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second annual TechFest event!
