Celebrating Innovation at Dev Technology’s Fourth Annual TechFest

On July 15th, Dev Technology hosted its fourth annual TechFest, celebrating technological innovation within our community.

This event brought together teams from across the company to share new solutions, emerging technologies, and mission-focused projects that are transforming how we support our customers through efficiency and cost savings.

Our TechFest demos featured several of Dev Technology’s capabilities and tools including ServiceNow AI platforms, where our team demonstrated how ServiceNow AI Control Tower, AI Agents, and Agentic Workflow drives exponential productivity across every corner of a business. These solutions govern risk, enforce compliance, monitor runtime performance, and measures AI value, in addition to accelerated application development.

Following their demo, the Dev Technology ServiceNow team shared, “ServiceNow AI Control Tower has moved AI governance from an afterthought to a built-in capability. It gives organizations a single inventory of every AI agent, model, and identity across their environment, real-time security enforcement (including the ability to shut down an agent that goes off script), and lifecycle governance from idea to retirement. It’s also expanded beyond ServiceNow itself, now discovering and governing AI assets across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and major enterprise apps. Looking ahead, expect deeper runtime observability into how agents actually reason and make decisions and tighter ROI/value measurement tied to business outcomes.”

Our Microsoft team showcased how to build effective tools within your Microsoft 365 suite of applications with the Microsoft Stack featuring an AI Inbox Agent, how you can prototype at code speed, and support proposal development with AI demonstrating how users can define requirements, generate app screens and data models, refine functionality through conversational prompts, and quickly create a shareable productivity solutions without traditional coding.

“Not only is having a condensed summary of your emails sorted by importance an efficient way to see what needs to be done, but getting a message at 9 every morning keeps you on top of your work and ensures you are reading through and acting on important messages,” said Dev Technology’s Microsoft Power Platform and AI Intern, Logan Huckins. “In addition, this email summarization agent was created in 5 minutes! Copilot Studio is able to rapidly create whatever agent or agentic flow you are looking to build in order to increase productivity even further.”

Also showcased, Dev Technology’s CoreTranslate solution, which provides secure, real-time speech-to-speech and speech-to-text translation across 25 languages without relying on cloud services. Powered entirely by an iPhone’s Neural Engine, this on-device AI translation platform performs speech recognition, language detection, translation, and speech synthesis directly on the device.

“All of Dev Technology’s Dev Core Solutions are designed around specific problems we know that government teams face,” said Dev Technology’s Chief Technologist, John Janek. “CoreTranslate is aligned to the challenge of translation in signal constrained environments. Places where you may not have any signal at all, and still need capability projection. CoreTranslate takes advantage of advantages in both edge compute and AI to deliver that capability. And best of all, when you’re in range, you can use safe, trusted, GovCloud providers, ensuring that you always have full control over your translation pipeline.”

Dev Technology’s Technical Director for AI/ML, Joshua Powers, demonstrated a quantitative approach to selecting the right LLM provider and model for each workflow task type. Demonstrating how we aggregate open source, academic and our own LLM-as-a-Judge results to rank and filter LLM offerings based on objective criteria that represent the value we are trying to realize when we implement these technologies.

Our teams also highlighted several Dev internal tools, developed to increase employee efficiency and automate routine processes. Members of our 2026 intern cohort built custom applications: Dev Wellness and DevPark, two separate platforms created to support employee wellness initiatives and streamline the parking validation process for our teams.

Another demonstration featured a set of four internal applications that support key business operations across the company. These demos included Events Watcher, which identifies relevant industry events for our business development team; Observability Wizard, a FinOps tool that tracks AWS spending across departments; the Dev Store Points App, which manages employee rewards redeemable for company swag; and the Visitor Management System, which helps improve visitor tracking, security, and operational management at Dev headquarters.

“This year TechFest’s theme was “Touch Grass” – we did that to remind ourselves that while the pace of technology disruption right now at this moment might feel extreme, technology can’t exist without us,” said Dev Technology’s Chief Technologist, John Janek. “People who build, people who inspire, people who work for the good of this nation. The best thing about TechFest wasn’t the technology. It was the people who came together to share their stories, their projects, and their opinions.”
