Dev Technology Honored as Community Leader Through CARE Awards
Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) selected Dev Technology as a leader in community impact, family-friendly policies and employee engagement to receive its Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Awards.
For more than 25 years, the CARE Awards have recognized outstanding companies that make Northern Virginia a better place for everyone to work, live and play. Community engagement—along with outstanding employee engagement and culture, and progressive family-friendly policies—is a key pillar of CARE-ing companies.
This year, Dev Technology was honored as a responsive employer for its deep community impact, outstanding employee engagement and culture, and progressive family-friendly policies. CARE Award winners are selected based on their performance in the categories of community involvement and impact, health and wellness benefits, work-life programs and policies, and development and education programs.
Dev Technology supports the local community through organizations such as Cornerstones, Homestretch, Fairfax County Family Services, So Others Might Eat, South Lakes High School Boosters Club, the After School All-Stars, Wounded Warriors, the Border Patrol Foundation, and others. Dev Technology also has an employee-led “Fun Patrol” that organizes opportunities for employees to get involved in the community. This includes an annual charity drive, volunteer events, charity fun runs and walks, and food and clothing drives. Dev Technology also has a charitable matching policy for employee requests. At a minimum, we match 100% up to $100 per employee.
Dev Technology offers comprehensive health benefits to our employees and their families. This includes medical, dental, and vision. In addition to traditional benefits, we offer unique benefits such as healthy snacks in our offices, Friday yoga classes, a mentorship program, reimbursement for a fitness tracker, and telework options. Our headquarters location in Reston also has a massage chair, ping pong table, Ms. Pac Man arcade game, and a giant Jenga.
“We founded Dev Technology with a primary goal of making a great place for people to work,” stated Susie Sylvester Duggal, Dev Technology Co-Founder and Executive Chair. “And we have always been passionate about supporting our community. As we have grown over the past few years, it has provided us with even more opportunities to give back. We are lucky to have passionate employees who enjoy helping out and getting involved.”
“CARE Award winners are leaders in our community who are both inspirational and aspirational,” shares Stephanie Berkowitz, president and CEO at Northern Virginia Family Service. “They continue to show us through their actions and their values that our economy, our community and our bottom lines are strongest when we engage deeply both within our community and with our people.”
Awards were presented at the 26th Annual CARE Awards Breakfast, held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner. For more information visit nvfs.org/careawards.
