Software Engineering Lead

Clearance:  DHS Public Trust (or ability to obtain)

Location: Washington, D.C.

Dev Technology Group is seeking senior-level Java Developer who can design, develop, and provide support for multiple web-based enterprise applications using various Java/JavaScript technology stacks, such as AngularJS, for the Department of Homeland Security. Other tasks include collaborating with team members and stakeholders in analyzing requirements to ensure clients’ needs and expectations are met.

The ideal candidate will work with senior developers to architect new functionality, as well as enhance existing functionality for systems throughout the software development life-cycle (SDLC). We place a strong emphasis on problem solving abilities and being able to design and present technical solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing Java applications and possessing the ability and willingness to learn JavaScript
  • GoF Design Pattern knowledge a must
  • 2+ years of experience developing using CSS and HTML
  • 1+ years of experience in writing SQL and working with relational database structures
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

 Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience developing AngularJS applications a plus
  • Ant, Perl, Python scripting experience strongly preferred. Networking or system administration experience a plus
  • Federal government contracting experience preferred

  Education/Certifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree
  • Java programming certification (e.g., Red Hat Certified JBoss Developer – RHCJD)
